UGC Deals That Turned Me Into a Real Customer
People ask me a lot about what it's like to be a UGC creator. The pitching, the filming, the rates, the inbounds. I love talking about all of that.
But something that comes up less often: sometimes the brand you film for completely changes your life in a small, everyday, very real way. You agree to make a video, and six months later you're a paying customer who can't imagine life without the product.
It's happened to me more times than I expected, to be honest! Here are the ones that stuck:
Mixbook: I’ve filmed for them for 4+ years, but I’ve bought five of my own.
Mixbook was one of my first UGC collabs back in 2022. They sent me samples, and I remember thinking the quality was genuinely impressive. Bright photos, thick pages, nothing flimsy about it (aka can withstand toddler hands). I filmed the content, sent it off, and then within a few months ordered my own photo book from our Florida trip.
That was the start. Since then I've made year-in-review books, a first birthday book for my oldest, and my personal favourite, a family calendar with my siblings every Christmas. We pool our photos, build a calendar, and give it to our parents. Three years in a row now. My parents have it up in their kitchen every single year and I love seeing it when I go home to visit!
I've ordered 5+ Mixbook products for myself and as gifts. The pages have survived two kids flipping through them for years. If you want to try it: here’s my code.
Nellie's: I have spent over $400 on bulk cleaning supplies
I am not exaggerating!! I filmed content for Nellie's years ago because I genuinely loved the product to begin with. Most recently, I spent over $400 on bulk orders of their cleaning supplies and I’m still working through the last haul a year later.
Nellie's is non-toxic, it actually works, and the bulk format means I don't have to think about running out. For a house with two kids where things are constantly getting dirty, that matters. My cleaning cupboard is basically a Nellie's ad at this point.

INE Nutrition: Customer first, UGC collab later.
Similarity to my experience with Nellie’s, I bought ine+ Nutrition super greens and loved them so much I started to create content for them.Let me tell you, I am genuinely obsessed with MANY of their products: the super greens, their sleep magnesium, and their new electrolyte drinks are my top contenders. The super greens go in my morning drink every day. The magnesium is part of my nighttime routine (actually, my husbands too). The electrolytes are what I reach for when I'm filming all day and running on coffee and my two boys’ energy.
Truly, 10/10 recommend for yourself, as gifts, whatever and whoever. We LOVE these.

The pilates studio: I needed content, and now I'm a member.
I needed pilates content for a concept I was developing, so I went to a local studio to film. Loved it so much that I signed up for multiple memberships. I am now a person who does pilates and HA - that one surprised me.

What this means for the content I make
The best content I've ever made has been for products that ended up in my actual life. Not because I forced it, but because the product was good enough that I kept reaching for it after the camera stopped rolling.
If you're a creator, that's worth paying attention to as a filter for which brands you say yes to.
And if you're a mom looking for honest recommendations, I only keep sharing products that passed the "would I buy this with my own money" test. These are the ones that did.
If you’re also a creator - what collabs have turned you into customers?!
